I hope your summer has been enjoyable so far! We have been very busy with the rates at a 40 year low of 4.25% to 5% and a great selection of homes, townhomes & rentals. I have talked to alot of my friends & clients who were not aware of the Property Tax Refund deadline next month, so here is a quick update & two links ...to go to for more info!

If you are a Minnesota Homeowner or Renter be sure and file your to receive up to $2,350 for homeowners and up to $1,510 for renters. To avoid any penalties to your refund be sure and file before August 15th 2010 but you can still file up until August 15th 2011. Because of the two year deadline, if you forgot to file your 2008 property tax refund you can still file but penalties will be attached.

The city of Woodbury is offering Woodbury first time home buyer's, a Home Ownership Program. The purpose is to encourage home ownership in the City of Woodbury by providing financing to low- and moderate-income to Woodbury first time home buyer's. Low-interest, deferred loans of up to $25,000 are available to qualified families who earn no more than 80 percent of area median income, currently $64,000 for a family of four. Woodbury first-time home buyers are defined as a person or household that has never owned a home or has not owned a home in the last three years. The purchase price of the affected homes may not exceed $256,500. Single-family detached houses, townhomes or condo units are eligible for this program.

Cottage Grove First Time Homebuyer Programs allow a Cottage Grove first time homebuyer to receive help with either a down payment or monthly payments on their Cottage Grove Home. 

If you are a first time homebuyer in Cottage Grove you may not know where to look to find out if you qualify for any First Time Homebuyer Programs.

The state of Minnesota has a few programs that can be used in Cottage Grove by first time hombuyers.  Washington County also has programs for First Time Homebuyers in Cottage Grove.
